POSITION OVERVIEW
THE DEEP SPACE NAVIGATION DIVISION REQUIRES SPACE TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS FOR GATEWAY STATION AND EARTH ORBITAL INSTALLATIONS — THE MOST HEAVILY TRAFFICKED ORBITAL CORRIDORS IN THE ENTIRE INTERCOLONIAL COMMERCE COMMISSION NETWORK. ON ANY GIVEN SHIFT, YOU WILL MANAGE THE SIMULTANEOUS APPROACH, DOCKING, DEPARTURE, AND TRANSIT OF COMMERCIAL FREIGHTERS, COLONIAL TRANSPORTS, MILITARY VESSELS, AND DEEP SPACE EXPLORATION CRAFT. EVERY DIRECTIVE YOU ISSUE IS A LIFE-OR-DEATH DECISION. A SINGLE MISCALCULATED VECTOR OR DELAYED RESPONSE CAN RESULT IN COLLISION, HULL BREACH, OR CATASTROPHIC LOSS OF LIFE. THIS POSITION DEMANDS ABSOLUTE PRECISION, UNSHAKEABLE COMPOSURE UNDER PRESSURE, AND THE ABILITY TO PROCESS MULTIPLE SIMULTANEOUS ORBITAL TRAJECTORIES IN REAL TIME.
SPACE TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS OPERATE FROM THE COMMAND OPERATIONS CENTER — A 360-DEGREE HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY ENVIRONMENT THAT RENDERS EVERY VESSEL, DEBRIS FIELD, AND ORBITAL BODY WITHIN YOUR SECTOR IN REAL TIME. YOU WILL USE PREDICTIVE TRAJECTORY MODELING, AUTOMATED COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS, AND DIRECT VOICE COMMUNICATION WITH VESSEL COMMANDERS TO ORCHESTRATE THE SAFE FLOW OF TRAFFIC THROUGH YOUR ASSIGNED CORRIDORS. THE WORK IS MENTALLY EXHAUSTING. SHIFTS ARE STRICTLY LIMITED TO 6 HOURS WITH MANDATORY 2-HOUR REST PERIODS, BECAUSE COGNITIVE FATIGUE IN THIS ROLE KILLS PEOPLE. RESPONSIBILITIES
- ▶MANAGE ALL VESSEL APPROACH, DOCKING, AND DEPARTURE SEQUENCES WITHIN ASSIGNED ORBITAL SECTOR USING HOLOGRAPHIC TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
- ▶ISSUE REAL-TIME NAVIGATIONAL DIRECTIVES TO VESSEL COMMANDERS VIA DIRECT VOICE AND DATA-LINK COMMUNICATION
- ▶MONITOR AND MAINTAIN AUTOMATED COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS, OVERRIDING WHEN MANUAL INTERVENTION IS REQUIRED
- ▶COORDINATE EMERGENCY TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS DURING DEBRIS EVENTS, SOLAR FLARE WARNINGS, AND VESSEL MALFUNCTIONS
- ▶TRACK AND CATALOG ORBITAL DEBRIS WITHIN SECTOR, UPDATING HAZARD MAPS AND ISSUING AVOIDANCE ADVISORIES
- ▶MANAGE FTL TRANSIT CORRIDOR SCHEDULING — COORDINATING JUMP WINDOWS TO PREVENT SPATIAL INTERFERENCE BETWEEN DEPARTING VESSELS
- ▶MAINTAIN DETAILED TRAFFIC LOGS AND INCIDENT REPORTS FOR ICC REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND CORPORATE AUDIT
REQUIREMENTS
- ▶BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN AEROSPACE ENGINEERING, ORBITAL MECHANICS, ASTRONAVIGATION, OR RELATED FIELD (MANDATORY)
- ▶MINIMUM 4 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ORBITAL OPERATIONS, FLIGHT CONTROL, OR VESSEL NAVIGATION
- ▶ICC SPACE TRAFFIC CONTROL CERTIFICATION (MANDATORY — NO PROVISIONAL LICENSES ACCEPTED)
- ▶PASS NEUROLOGICAL RESPONSE TIME ASSESSMENT: MINIMUM 98TH PERCENTILE REACTION SPEED AND SPATIAL PROCESSING
- ▶DEMONSTRATED PROFICIENCY WITH HOLOGRAPHIC TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND PREDICTIVE TRAJECTORY MODELING SYSTEMS
- ▶FULL MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CLEARANCE FOR HIGH-STRESS CRITICAL OPERATIONS ASSIGNMENT
- ▶ZERO INCIDENT RECORD IN PRIOR TRAFFIC CONTROL OR FLIGHT OPERATIONS ASSIGNMENTS
- ▶FLUENCY IN STANDARD ICC COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS AND EMERGENCY BROADCAST PROCEDURES
